Easy and impactful volunteer opportunity in F3 Metro: Heart Math Tutoring

This past school year I spent every Tuesday morning 8-8:30 am with a 3rd grade student just a few miles from my house. We covered predefined math curriculum each session. The time investment was very small in comparison to the difference it made for her. Beyond getting better at math (she grew in 7 concept areas; the program goal was growth in 2), she started coming to school on time and even participated in Girls on the Run because she learned I was running each morning before our tutoring sessions. In short, I found an easy way to make a big difference in the life of someone in our community. I want other F3 brothers to have that same chance. Below is more information on Heart Math Tutoring. Shout out in the comments if you want more information or have questions.

More info:

Heart Math Tutoring provides an easy, fun curriculum and a staff person on site to make sure things go smoothly. Volunteers choose a 30-minute or 1-hour weekly tutoring time any day Monday through Thursday, at 8AM or 11AM. Volunteers help students who are falling behind build very basic math skills and academic confidence. More information and the quick signup form is here. You can read a Charlotte Observer article or watch this video to learn more, as well.

Just signed up for Heart Math tutoring for the new school year. I’m assigned to Billingsville for Tuesday mornings. Lots of schools still need volunteers.

    Great post, 20/20.
